Road Construction on Pine Avenue: There will be a detour on Pine Ave. all of next week so anyone coming from the Northside can plan accordingly.  It starts On Monday, September 21 at 6:00 AM and goes until Friday, September 25 evening.  Pine Ave will be closed down for CSX at W.4th/Pine Ave and the traffic will have to go East to Central Ave.  They will travel South to W.7th and can go West from there as 2 lanes will be open on W.7th.

Creative Students:  Culture Works is hosting Fall classes and workshops at the Holland Area Arts Council.  Brochures (Spanish & English) are available in the Student Success office.  Classes and workshops are taught by professional artists and designers.  Culture Works and the Arts Council continue to abide by CDC guidelines for safety.  

Covid Restrictions:  Due to restrictions related to COVID-19, visitors and deliveries for students are not allowed. This includes lunch deliveries.  Thank you for helping keep our building safe!

Sports

Men’s Tennis: The Holland High varsity tennis team hosted a tournament on Saturday, finishing in second place.  The Dutch almost won the tournament, but couldn't catch the #8 ranked team in Division 2, Battle Creek Lakeview. Lakeview was able to edge the Dutch by a score of 19 to 17. Holland was led by their #1 doubles team of Matt Huizinga and Elliot Wehrmeyer who went 3-0 on the day, finishing as flight champions. Every other flight for Holland went 2-1 and would finish as flight runner-ups. "I am pleased with the way we are playing right now," said Holland coach Kyle Kreps. "The team's focus has been great and it shows in their play. We're looking to continue this level of play as we move into the final weeks of the season." Holland will travel to Zeeland East on Monday for a big conference match against the Chix.

Men’s Soccer: On Saturday, Holland High hosted St. Joseph High School and beat the non-conference opponent 2-0 in a hard-fought match. Brett Timmer and Abraham Arellano scored goals, and Levi Honderd passed for both assists. Goalkeeper Paul Klomparens and defenders Jackson VanHekken, T.J. Vreeman, Sam Jimenez, and Chandler DeWitt earned the shut-out. "St. Joe is a skilled, physical team," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "They challenged us throughout the game. Our team remained composed and persevered. I was very happy about our effort, especially on defense. Holland is now 6-0 and travels to Zeeland East on Tuesday. Holland JV also won over St. Joseph 4-1 and remains undefeated at 5-0.
