Be Nice Club
Starting today and until Dec. 15th the Be Nice Club will hold a “Be Nice Be Warm” community collection. We are collecting gently used and new cozy warm accessory items including hats, mittens, gloves, socks, scarfs, earmuffs, winter headbands to be donated to the Holland mission and the power H store. Look for our cozy fireplace that will be set up by the front windows of the school. Starting on Monday, there will be a collection box by the cozy fireplace for you to turn in items. We hope you can help us make our community a warm place this winter.
Student Council
Student Council has three big things coming up this month that we want to let you know about!
- We will be hosting an opportunity for students to make gifts for family and friends. The Do-It-Yourself gift making will happen after school on Tuesday, Dec. 19. All students are invited to attend. Tickets cost $5 and for that cost you will be able to make 5-7 nice gifts for your family members including a mug, a keyring, ornaments, charm bracelet, coaster and more. We will even have a gift wrap station so you can wrap up what you make. Tickets for this will be sold ahead of time at lunches next week because we have to purchase the supplies. Plan ahead to attend!
- STUCO will be holding a Candycane gram sale next week as well. Next week for 50 cents, students can write a note to someone. The Student council will attach a candy cane to your note and deliver it for you to the 7th period of the person you are sending it to on the day before the holiday break. Be thinking about who you want to send a note to… it’s a great way to send holiday greetings!
- STUCO will be holding a spirit dress up week the week of Dec. 11-15. Holland High School student council is working with our student council to come up with the theme days so we will match the students at HHS. We will be announcing the dress up themes later this week! IT is going to be fun!
NOTE FROM THE NURSE
We’ve all been told of the many physical benefits of exercise. But did you know that exercise can boost your mood as well? Exercise releases brain hormones called endorphins, which are known to promote feelings of well-being and improve overall mood. To reduce stress and anxiety, try being physically active!
