Holland High is excited to welcome students back for the 2026-2027 school year!

Freshman Family Night: ALL incoming freshmen and their families will join us Tuesday, August 18, from 6–8 p.m. for free dinner, prizes, Chromebook and schedule pickup, student activities, and helpful information to ensure a confident start to high school!
Open House: We look forward to welcoming you to Holland High School on Tuesday, August 25, from 4-6pm. This time is designated for students and families to visit the building, walk their schedules and meet their teachers. Following the Open House, there will be a brief Early College parent meeting for 11th grade students from 6:00–6:30 PM in the Book Nook/Media Center.
First Day of School: Thursday, August 27 (7:45 AM- 2:55 PM). Doors open at 7:05am for breakfast in The Commons (FREE for all students). Classes begin at 7:45am. HEC students with DU (Davenport University) classes should arrive in time for Advisory (10:05am). DU classes begin on September 8. Check out the First Week Bell Schedule for details.
Careerline Tech Center: CTC begins Monday, August 24, before the first day of HHS. Students are strongly encouraged to attend August 24–26. The HHS shuttle will depart from the student parking lot on 24th Street at 7:25 a.m. CTC will dismiss at 10:45 a.m. August 24–28. Please note that home-to-HHS and HHS-to-home busing will not be available August 24–26; regular district transportation begins August 27.
Education Benefit Form: Every family is required to complete the Education Benefit Form, which helps to provide critical funding for the entire District. Thank you for taking care of this before school starts! It takes only 2 minutes to complete!
Class Schedules: Students may view their schedules in Infinite Campus beginning Friday, August 21 after 3:00 PM. If you find an error, please submit this Google Form (opens 8/25). You do not need to email your counselor. After reviewing your request, your counselor will either make the change and notify you, schedule a meeting, or explain why the change cannot be accommodated. Please check your email for updates.
School Supplies: Supplies may vary based on the courses students are taking. Teachers will communicate any course requirements during the first week of school. It’s recommended that students bring the following supplies- backpack, pens & pencils, highlighters, paper, notebooks, and pocket folders for each class. An agenda or planner is very helpful to help students stay organized and manage assignments.
Chromebooks: Students will receive Chromebooks on August 27 (Day 1) during Advisory. If you did not turn in your Chromebook and/or charger last year, please bring it with you.
Cell Phone Policy- No Phone Zones: To support student learning and engagement, HHS restricts cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal communication devices in accordance with Michigan’s cell phone law. All areas outside the Commons are No Phone Zones, including during class and passing time. Students may use phones in the Commons during breakfast, lunch, and after school. Students may also request to use a school phone to contact a parent or guardian.

Kelly Ashby: O–Z and Holland Early College students
School Pictures: Picture Day will take place during the school day on Friday, August 28 (Day 2). Pictures will take place during English classes. Order forms have been emailed home, from Geskus, and they will also be available on picture day.
Free Meals for Students: All HPS students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2026–27 school year. Students will need cash, a check, or funds in their meal account to purchase à la carte snacks or a second entrée. For food service questions, call 616-494-2245.
