Holland High School | School Supply Suggested Shopping List - 2026-27
The first day of School is Thursday, August 27.
Supplies may vary based on the courses students are taking. Teachers will communicate any course requirements during the first week of school. It’s recommended that students bring the following supplies:
- Backpack
- Pens & pencils
- Highlighters
- Paper
- Notebooks
- Pocket folders for each class.
- An agenda or planner is very helpful to help students stay organized and manage assignments.

HPS Students are getting ready to celebrate Halloween. This week, we talk with Yazmin Angulo, a member of HHS Student Senate, about the upcoming Trunk-or-Treat event and about the Annual Decomposers Festival hosted by the Holland Orchestra.
Next week Tuesday, October 27, marks our annual fall practice for the SAT. The PSAT is a great opportunity to see what your score could be on the SAT itself. The PSAT and SAT test math and English language skills. These scores can be used in college admissions, for scholarship opportunities, and are a part of student requirements for graduating in the state of Michigan. Here are some key details for next week's test:
Who: 11th grade students
When: 7:45 AM. The test will begin shortly after the school day starts. As soon as the test is over you will return to lunch and your afternoon classes.
Where: Students will receive an email about their testing location next week. It will be in a room at HHS.
What should I bring: You should bring a fully charged chrome book, water and a snack (if you would like them)
Results from the PSAT are released to students' college board accounts and usually are available within a month of the test. Stay tuned for more updates about the test this next week, and further updates about ways to prepare for the SAT in the Spring.

Nutrition Services is excited to bring a little extra fun to our cafeterias by celebrating special National Days throughout the school year. These give us another opportunity to make mealtime enjoyable, introduce students to different foods, and encourage participation in our school meal programs.
- National Taco Day | October 6 - We will kick off the month by celebrating with a delicious Breakfast Taco!
- Count Day Celebration | October 7 - All students in attendance will receive a refreshing Cool Tropics treat.
- National Apple Day | October 21 - We will celebrate by serving Apple Cobbler with lunch.
- National Pumpkin Day | October 26 - Everyone who eats lunch with us that day receiving a delicious slice of Pumpkin Bread.
Progress report grades have been posted to Infinite Campus. A progress report grade gives parents and students a snapshot of how a student is performing midway through the grading period. It's a helpful tool for identifying areas of strength and where extra support may be needed before final grades are issued.
