West February News #3
Dear West Families,
As the month of February continues, we have many things to LOVE at West: Parent-Teacher Conferences, Free Book Fair, Valentine Spirit Week and more! Something else there is to LOVE about West is our Word of the Week! Each Monday, in the announcements, students are introduced to a new vocabulary word and given examples of how to use the word. Through the week, the announcements will sneak in the work as often as possible! This week’s word is DISTINGUISH. Help your student(s) by talking about the word and using the word!
West LOVES Spirit Weeks!! This week is Valentine’s Spirit Week:
Monday: Red, pink and white Day
Tuesday: Twin Day– wear the same clothing as a friend!
Wednesday: Wacky Hair Day– Let’s see some crazy hair-dos!
Thursday: Valentine Accessory Day
Friday: Holland Gear– Wear Red and White!
Please contact our administrative team with any questions or concerns!
Warmly,
Chad Tolson, Principal
Jennifer Heinritz, Assistant Principal

This week we will be reviewing the routine and expectations for the bathroom. Washing hands is so important to prevent the spread of illness. Help us by reminding your student(s) to wash their hands after each bathroom visit.
(Bathroom expectations are included in the Monday, February 16 announcements).

Important Pick-Up Reminders:
Please help us keep students safe and traffic moving during Pick-Up by remembering the following:
Use the front circle for pick-up only. If you need to park your vehicle, please park in the lot and walk up to the building.
Pull your vehicle as far forward as possible, leaving little space between cars
Leave the front circle as soon as your student(s) is buckled and it is safe to drive
PLEASE DO NOT motion students to the middle lane of the circle to get into your vehicle! This is unsafe.
Talk with you student(s) about watching for your vehicle and getting into the vehicle as quickly as possible to avoid delays.
Thank you all for your patience and help to make the end of the day go smoothly!
