HHS' Mr. Telgenhof - Leader & Best
Holland High School teacher Dan Telgenhof was honored Saturday by the University of Michigan Basketball team as "Teacher of the Game". As a part of Education Day, Mr. Telgenhof was during the game at Chrisler Arena. Go Dutch! and Go Blue!

Dan graduated from the University of Michigan in 1997 with a bachelor of arts in history and education. He is in his 28th year of teaching at Holland Public Schools. His first 9 years were spent teaching 8th grade US history. He then transitioned to teaching at Holland High School. Over the years he has taught AP government, US history, sociology, psychology, economics, and world history. Dan received the Coca-Cola Teacher of the Year award in 2013, as well as the district's 21st Century Leader Award in 2015. In addition to teaching, Dan has been the head varsity girls basketball coach at Holland High School for 17 years. He is also a founder and leader of the school's student senate, and is the assistant varsity softball coach. Two of Dan's daughters have also attended the University of Michigan. Go blue!
