Whats' Cooking - November

Starting November 3, 2025, Middle School students will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of à la carte itemsduring lunchtime. These include student favorites that meet USDA Smart Snack standards, offering more choices while keeping nutrition in mind! Students may use their meal account funds or cash to purchase these items. We encourage families to check account balances regularly through familyportal to ensure funds are available. We’re excited to give our students more flexibility and fun at lunchtime — another way we’re helping them stay healthy, fueled, and ready to learn!

Lori Lukte – Lead Server, Jefferson Elementary: Lori has been a valued member of the HPS Nutrition Services Family for the past 14 years, and she continues to make a wonderful impact each day! As the Lead Server at Jefferson Elementary, Lori works alongside Esther Zuniga and our dedicated Food Service Floaters to ensure every student enjoys a nutritious and delicious breakfast and lunch throughout the week. Lori has a special way of brightening any room with her fantastic smile and warm, welcoming personality. Her commitment to our students and her positive energy make Jefferson’s cafeteria a truly inviting place. Thank you, Lori, for your outstanding dedication and all that you do for our students and team!

Heather Bowes – Lead Server, Holland Language Academy: Heather Bowes has been a dedicated member of the HPS Nutrition Services Family for the past 6 years, ensuring our students are always met with a smile and a delicious meal each day. Whether serving breakfast or lunch, Heather goes above and beyond to make every student feel welcome. Her ability to communicate in Spanish is a tremendous asset, helping our students feel comfortable and supported throughout the school day. Thank you, Heather, for your dedication and for making a difference in the lives of our students!

Linda Wilson – Lead Server Holland Heights Elementary: Linda Wilson has been a valued member of the HPS Nutrition Services Family for the past 5 years. Starting as a Food Server, she quickly moved into her role as Lead Server at Holland Heights Elementary, where she has excelled for the past 2 years. Linda’s love and care for her students shine through every day. She ensures that each child feels valued andsupported while enjoying fantastic breakfasts, lunches, and afterschool snacks. Her dedication and warm personality make her truly one-of-a-kind.
