Online Threat at Neighboring School District a Good Reminder of OK2Say

While a recent social media posts threatening a neighboring district amounted to unsubstantiated rumors (and had no connection to  Holland Public Schools), this is a good reminder of the importance of reporting anything suspicious to the authorities that could disrupt the safety and security of our schools.

We have been made aware of threatening social media posts impacting a neighboring school district.  The Sheriff’s department has been working with that district’s administrators to investigate the matter and ensure the safety of students.  While those social media posts amounted to unsubstantiated rumors and had no connection to  Holland Public Schools, this is a good reminder of the importance of reporting anything to the authorities that could disrupt the safety and security of our schools. Multiple students and staff have come forward to report these issues to administrators through different platforms including OK2Say.  We continue to appreciate the communication with our students and families and their willingness to make us aware of any potential danger.

Anyone can report tips confidentially on criminal activities or potential harm directed at students, school employees, or schools.
