Conferences, Swimming, and More!
Attendance Incentive:
This October we will have a SPOOKTACULAR attendance incentive! Each week, the classroom with the best attendance from each hallway will fill their “Jack-o-Lantern” with a piece of “candy.” The classroom with the most pieces of “candy” at the end of the month will get to participate in a Halloween Mystery Activity!
Besides being a fun activity for the month of October, it is crucial that our Jefferson students attend school consistently! If you are having difficulty getting your child(ren) to school consistently and on-time, please reach out to our office staff. We are here to support you!
Count Day:
This coming Wednesday, October 5th is student count day. Count day is important because the number of students at school on the 5th plays a part in determining the amount of funding our building gets. Please help support Jefferson by making sure that your child attends school on Wednesday!
Conferences:
October means cooler weather, pumpkins and CONFERENCES! Fall conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 19 from 4:15 - 7:15 PM, as well as Thursday, October 20 from 12:30 - 3:30 PM. Please communicate with your child’s teacher if you need a conference outside of the given times.

Classroom Change Challenge:
This week classrooms will be competing to see which class can bring in the most change! Each day students are encouraged to bring in different denominations: Monday is penny day, Tuesday is nickel day, Wednesday is dime day, Thursday is quarter day, and Friday is bring in all types of coins. The classroom that raises the most money will receive a treat and an extra recess! All money collected will go towards purchasing books for students at our Book Fair that is coming up the week of October 11 - 14.
Swimming:
This week kicked off swimming lessons at the Holland Aquatic Center for our Jefferson students! We are so excited to be back to a regular swimming schedule after several years of no swimming lessons and/or limited swimming lessons. Each class at Jefferson will engage in swimming lessons for a two week time period. The HAC supplies the swimsuits, towels and instructors! Swimming lessons will run through Friday, November 11. Watch your child’s red folder for more information.
