- February 3 - HLA Sibling applications due
- February 10 - Kindergarten Enrollment Open House for NEW HLA families | 6-7pm
- February 24 - Applications due for NEW HLA families
- March 10 - Enrollment Lottery for open Kindergarten seats at HLA

As we prepare for the start of the next school year, it's time to register your student for 2026-27. This is something we ask ALL current HPS families to do EVERY year. Completing the registration lets us know:
- Your student(s) will be returning next year!
- Your household contact information is up to date
- Your student health information is up to date
- if you are requesting transportation for the 2026-2027 school year (Deadline to request bussing is August 1.)
Without this information, your student can not be added to a class list for next year OR have a class schedule created for them.
Sliding into Spring Break: April 3-12
Vocal Dimensions performance of Legends & Icons hits the stage of HHS PAC March 26-28. This week, we're talking with Vocals members Ka'Shay Louks and Luke Rund-Scott.
This month HPD Ofc. Jose Padron-Hernandez introduced the Student Problem Solvers at HLA!!!
- Program for selected 5th graders to “patrol” the playground during lunch.
- Teams of 2 work together and have the opportunity to resolve issues themselves.
- Teaches lifelong skills – communication, listening and critical thinking.
- Creates a safe, more compassionate school climate for everyone.
Ofc. Padron was part of a similar program when he attended elementary school.
Thousands of Eggs. Hundreds of Prizes!
There will be raffle prizes, baked goods, and authentically delicious tacos for sale plus, of course, an Easter Egg Hunt with fun prizes!

This month, we are celebrating National Nutrition Month, an annual campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This year’s theme focuses on how we can fuel our bodies for the future while enjoying the flavors of the present! In this month's Nurse Notes:

Whether you are a student fueling up for a big test, a staff member looking for an afternoon energy boost, or a parent planning family dinners, nutrition is the foundation for success in and out of the classroom.
We are just days away from Spring Break! There will be no Red Note during this time, our next issue will be published on Sunday, April 12.
Over the break, we encourage you to continue supporting your child’s learning by reading together, practicing math, and exploring learning beyond the classroom.
