And just like that, the 2025–2026 school year is in the books!

Thank you for an incredible year of learning, growth, partnership, and memories. We wish all of our families a safe, restful, and joy-filled summer.

To our fifth graders, congratulations and best wishes as you begin your next chapter. And to the families whose youngest child has graduated from HLA, thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. You will always be part of the HLA family.

See you in August!

June 2, 2026

As we wrap up another wonderful school year, I want to sincerely thank you for trusting us with your most prized possessions, your children. It is a responsibility and privilege that we never take lightly.

Thank you for partnering with us, supporting learning at home, and making sure your child came to school each day ready to learn and grow. Together, we celebrated successes, overcame challenges, and watched our students flourish academically, socially, emotionally, and bilingually.

To our fifth graders, we wish you nothing but success as you begin the next chapter of your journey. We are so proud of the young people you have become and cannot wait to see all that you accomplish.

And to those families whose youngest child has now graduated from HLA, THANK YOU. Thank you for your trust, your partnership, your volunteer hours, your support, and for allowing us to be part of your family's story. You will always be a part of the HLA family, and we are incredibly grateful for the years we shared together.

We wish all of our families a summer filled with rest, laughter, adventure, and special memories. Thank you for an amazing year!

With gratitude,

Principal Iliana

Attendance

Before we close out the year, we'd like to recognize one very special accomplishment.

We know that perfect attendance can bring different perspectives, especially since illnesses and unexpected circumstances are often beyond a family's control. At HLA, we chose to celebrate the commitment, perseverance, and effort it takes to show up for learning each day.

This year, our perfect attendance honoree was 4th grader Frannie Pierce, who attended school every single day of the school year! Frannie was recognized during Field Day and received gift cards to Sperry's Moviehouse and Captain Sundae.

Congratulations, Frannie! We are proud of your dedication and commitment to learning. Way to go!

Boys and Girls Club

We will reopen for summer programming on Monday, June 8 for 1st–12th graders (including students who completed kindergarten during the 2025–2026 school year). Summer hours will be Monday–Friday, 9:00am–3:00pm, with more details about field trips and programming coming soon.

Field Day

Thank you to all of our families who volunteered and helped make this Field Day so special for our students! Your time, energy, and support made all the difference. Take a look at all the fun, smiles, and memories captured throughout the day in the photos below. Thank you for being such an important part of our HLA community!
