Before Traveling for Spring Break...

Here are some tips for you and your family, if you are planning to take an international trip this Spring Break:

Despite the rising number of COVID-19 cases nationwide, many HPS families are planning trips to visit during the break! However, health officials continue to warn that travel increases your chance of spreading and getting COVID-19. The CDC recommends that you do not travel at this time. Delay travel and stay home to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.

  • Get tested before you travel. Keep a copy of your test results with you during travel in case you are asked for them. Do NOT travel if you test positive.
  • Check travel restrictions before you go.
  • Wear a mask over your nose and mouth when in public settings.
  • Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet from anyone who did not travel with you.
  • Wash your hands often.

Holland Public Schools will require staff and students to self-quarantine for up to 7 days following any international air travel. This full 7-day quarantine will be required even with a negative test result upon return. If students and staff are NOT TESTED upon return from international air travel, we will require them to self-quarantine for 10 days.

The students and staff at Holland Public Schools have done a great job this year following the guidelines meant to protect us all from getting or spreading COVID-19. Spring Break is not the time to let down our guard!
