Parent Information Meeting on New Neighborhood School Zones

HPS is preparing for exciting changes in the Fall of 2027 and we want to share our plans with parents in the district. Please attend a Parent Information meeting about anticipated neighborhood zoning changes for our PreK-5 Elementary Schools on Tuesday, October 27, 5:30-6:30pm, in the Jefferson Elementary Cafeteria.

As a part of the district’s 5-year Facility Plan:

  • 1 new classroom for each grade has been added at both Nature-based Holland Heights and West Elementary. 
  • Jefferson Elementary will be closed at the end of this school year.
  • In the Fall of 2027, students from Jefferson will begin attending West Elementary or Nature-based Holland Heights using the newly drawn zoning lines. 
  • Jefferson Elementary will be renovated as the new facility for Holland Language Academy, ready for students in the Fall of 2029.

At the Parent Meeting on October 27, 5:30-6:30pm at Jefferson Elementary, we will:

  • Show parents the new zoning lines for neighborhood schools.
  • Discuss the in-district transfer process.
  • Answer parents’ questions about how students will be impacted by these changes.

An activity will be provided for children/students who come with their parents to this meeting.
