Jacobusse Named Art Educator of the Year
The Michigan Art Education Association has named Julie Jacobusse the MAEA 2027 Elementary Art Educator of the Year!
- This is a great honor for Julie and Holland Public Schools.
Jacobusse teaches art at Holland Heights and West Elementary.
Julie has given many years of dedicated service as an art educator. A quote from a nomination letter about Julie:
Julie fosters creativity among her students, and encourages her colleagues to do the same. She goes the extra mile for students by giving them authentic experiences to have art in the community.
Julie will receive an award of recognition at the annual Michigan Art Education Association Conference. The award ceremony will be held during this year’s MAEA Conference - Telling Stories in the Blue, 5:30pm - 7:30pm on Friday, November 7, 2026, at the Blue Water Convention Center in Port Huron, MI.
