2026 Commencement Ceremony- May 19

Commencement is tomorrow- Tuesday, May 19! This is an exciting and meaningful milestone for our seniors, and we are looking forward to celebrating all they have accomplished. In this update, you’ll find important final reminders and key information to help ensure a smooth and successful ceremony. If questions come up or support is needed, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re incredibly proud of our seniors and can’t wait to celebrate this special day together.

  • Rehearsal is mandatory for all seniors.
  • Seniors may begin arriving at the DeVos Fieldhouse (222 Fairbanks Ave., Holland, MI 49423) at 12:15 p.m.
  • Attendance will be taken, and rehearsal will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m.
  • Rehearsal is expected to last approximately two hours.
  • Students should not wear their caps and gowns to rehearsal.
  • Graduates should return for the ceremony at 6:00 p.m. in their cap and gown and enter through the West doors (see attached map).
  • Non-Holland Public Schools commemorative items, including stoles and tassels, are encouraged for pictures after the ceremony; however, only HPS-approved stoles and tassels may be worn during the ceremony.
  • Doors for guests will open at 6:00 p.m., and guests should enter through the East doors (see attached map).
  • Parking is only permitted in designated parking lots or on city-approved street parking areas. Vehicles parked in non-designated areas, including grassy or green spaces around the venue, may be ticketed and towed.
  • If graduates are unable to complete the exterior processional following the ceremony, instructions for meeting graduates will be announced at the conclusion of the event.
