West March News #4
Dear West Families,
The countdown to Spring Break is on! This means crazy weather, lots of excitement and some silly behavior. Please help us reinforce school expectations by reviewing our West POWER expectations. POWER stands for Pride, Own Your Actions, Wise Choices, Engaged, and Respect.
This month’s Power H Ticket celebration is a GLOW DANCE!! Each class needs to earn 500 tickets to take part in the dance. The dance will take place during the day on Thursday, April 2. We are looking for volunteers to help set-up, hand out supplies during the dance, and clean-up. We also have decoration items that would be amazing to have at this link– West Glow Party Supply List.
We have two more weeks of Reading Month! We continue to celebrate by reading our One School/One Book, Sea Otter Sunrise, by Mary Pope Osborne. This week’s chapters are 7 and 8. Make sure to watch our West Connections Facebook page to get the links to teachers reading chapters from the book!
As always, please contact our administrative team with any questions or concerns!
Warmly,
Chad Tolson, Principal
Jennifer Heinritz, Assistant Principal

Word of the Week
Each Monday, in the announcements, students are introduced to a new vocabulary word and given examples of how to use the word. Through the week, the announcements will sneak in the work as often as possible! This week’s word is describe. Help your student(s) by talking about the word, using the word and encouraging your child to use the word.
