Test-Taking Tips for Students
Here are a few practical strategies we encourage students to review as they prepare:
Get organized: Create a study plan to review material over several days.
Use active strategies: Quiz yourself, rewrite notes, explain the material to someone else, and practice problems.
Ask questions: Teachers are available—don’t wait to ask for help.
Rest well: A good night’s sleep improves memory and focus.
Manage test anxiety: Use calming strategies like deep breathing or positive self-talk.

Semester Grades
Semester Final grades will be posted and available to view on Infinite Campus (Parent Portal) on Monday, December 22.
These are semester grades, which:
Appear on a student’s official transcript
Factor into the student’s GPA
Impact academic eligibility and future opportunities
We encourage every student to dedicate their best effort to preparing for exams.
Careerline Tech Center (CTC)
Wednesday, 12/17: Last day of CTC. Students are released at 10:45 AM. When they arrive at HHS, they will have study time in the Commons.
Thursday, 12/18: CTC students should report to HHS by 9:20 AM for their 4th hour exam.
If they arrive earlier, they may study in the Commons.
Early College (Davenport & Hope College Courses)
Early College students are not required to be on campus during an exam hour if they would normally be in a college course during that time, as college classes end on December 12th.
If students choose to be at school, they must stay in the Commons during those hours.
Students are expected to report to their high school class whenever that class is scheduled for a final exam.
Semester 2 Schedules & Course Corrections
Students can view their Semester 2 schedules in Infinite Campus beginning Monday, December 15.
Students will also receive a link to the Course Correction Form if they identify an error in their schedule. Your counselor will review this form and contact you.
The course correction window will be open:
The final week of Semester 1, and
The first three days of Semester 2
Let's Finish Strong!
We are proud of the hard work our students have shown this semester. Final exams are a chance to demonstrate growth, confidence, and mastery. Encourage students to stay focused, use available supports, and make the most of these important final instructional days.
We look forward to ending the semester well and starting 2025 with great success!
