Welcome Back to Holland Heights!

We are excited to see you all back for another great year at Holland Heights @Longfellow.  We are here at Longfellow for one more year before we go back to our “HOME” up in the Heights as construction will be completed next spring.  The new building is looking great and we are excited to get there next year!!

There aren’t too many changes for this year, so that should make things easier as we start the school year.  School start time is 8:15 and we end at 3:21.  Wednesday is the early release day when school ends at 2:21.  If your child is dropped off in the morning, the doors open for all kids at 7:45.  If your child is signed up for Books and Games, the door opens at 7:15 and closes at 7:25.  If your child rides the bus, please remind them about the expectations for riding the bus so everyone is safe.  If your child does not ride the bus, pick up locations at the end of the day are Door 1(main entrance) for grades 1,4 and 5 and Door 3 on 25th street for grades PreK+, K, 2 and 3.  Please be patient when picking up at the end of the day since we know 25th street will be busy.  You all did great with this last year, so keep up the good work,  drive slowly and be patient.  Thank you.

Our expectations for learning and behavior have not changed.  We will continue to teach the students about our POWER expectations, but it would be great if you could remind them about those before we start school on Aug. 21.  We want our students to take Pride in what they do here at school, Own their actions for the choices they make, make Wise Choices while at school, stay Engaged in their learning so they will grow as a learner and to show Respect to each other and all adults in the building.  We can always get better with these expectations every day, but we need your support in having your child work at meeting these expectations every day.  So, please talk with your child about these expectations and remind them that we are a team and will work together to make sure we get better at meeting these expectations every day.
