MLK Day Celebration
HPS Students, Staff, and Families are invited to join I Am Academy for a special gathering on Monday, January 15th, as we celebrate and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
- Lunch will be served at 11:20am
- Community Celebration at 11:30am - 12:30pm
The theme for the day is "Behind the Dream," where we will discuss the history, sacrifice, and leadership of those who paved the way before us, as well as acknowledge the outstanding leaders within our community. This event promises to be a meaningful and enlightening experience, featuring:
- Historical Perspectives – Explore the rich history and pivotal moments that shaped the civil rights movement, reflecting on the extraordinary contributions of Martin Luther King Jr. and others.
- Community Dialogue – Engage in thoughtful discussions about the impact of the civil rights movement on our community, acknowledging the ongoing work towards equality and justice.Local Leaders
- Spotlight – The MLK Service Award recognizes and honors a local leader within our community who continues to embody the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. through their dedication to social justice, equity, and community service.
