2024 Power H Awards

HPS parents, students, and staff, along with members of the Holland Community, are encouraged to nominate a HPS staff member for one of the following Power H Awards:

  • IMPACT Award
  • Rookie of the Year Award
  • Support Staff Award (Transportation, Maintenance, Administration)
  • Distinguished Alumni Award

The deadline for nominations is February 1, 2024


Follow the link to the nomination form for the Power H Awards. This form will ask you a few questions about you and about your nominee.  The form will also ask you to write a few sentences about why you are making the nomination.  We'll use this description of your nomination to help us choose Power H Award winners and IMPACT Award Building Representatives.


Criteria for Awards:

Power H IMPACT: 3 building representatives from each building will receive $500. 1 finalist from each building will receive $1000. 1 overall district winner will receive $5000 on May 1).

  • Any staff member at a HPS School | Teachers, Secretaties, IAs, Support Staff, etc.
  • Displays a contagious passion for education and supports/encourages others
  • Loves and Believes in the students they serve and inspires them to achieve more
  • Fosters respect, a sense of belonging, and success that honors each individual
  • Facilitates connections with community members and/or gives back to the community
  • Creates opportunities for students to get involved and get connected with school

 

Rookie of the Year: 1 winner will receive $1500

  • First year of working in the district
  • Displays a contagious passion for education and supports/encourages others
  • Loves and Believes in the students they serve and inspires them to achieve more
  • Fosters respect, a sense of belonging, and success that honors each individual
  • Facilitates connections with community members and/or gives back to the community
  • Creates opportunities for students to get involved and get connected with school

 

District Level Support: 1 winner will receive $1500 

  • Not assigned to a specific school building (ie transportation, maintenance, administration)
  • Displays a contagious passion for education and supports/encourages others
  • Loves and Believes in the students they serve and inspires them to achieve more
  • Fosters respect, a sense of belonging, and success that honors each individual
  • Facilitates connections with community members and/or gives back to the community
  • Creates opportunities for students to get involved and get connected with school

 

Power H Distinguished Alumni: A $1000 donation will be made in the name of this alumnus to a HPS program of their choice.

  • A graduate of Holland High School
  • Has created opportunities for Holland students and/or staff
  • A visible and vocal promoter and advocate of Holland Public Schools
