Schedule an appointment for a Kindergarten Assessment.
We can’t wait for school to start on Wednesday, August 23!
Before the first day of school, we’d love to meet your kindergartner and assess a few of their abilities. This kindergarten screening allows us to:
- give teachers a good idea about students’ academic abilities.
- determine if your student should be assigned to Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or traditional Kindergarten (K).
- build balanced and equitable classrooms with students whose academic abilities complement one another.
- allow children the time to learn classroom routines instead of having to determine academic ability the few first weeks of school
Kindergarten Screenings take about 10 minutes and include things like number recognition, counting abilities, letter identification and evaluation of some social skills. While your student is being screened by a teacher in a classroom, we’ll have a short survey about your child that you can fill out in the office.
Screenings are by appointment and will happen in each of our elementary schools buildings on:
- Thursday, August 10, 1-7pm
- Friday, August 11, 9am-1pm
