State Testing @ HHS, April 12-14

The week we return from Spring Break is State Testing Week.  Monday (4/10) and Tuesday (4/11) are regular school days.  Starting Wednesday (4/12), select grade levels will be taking State Assessments.  Students who are not testing on a given day are required to attend a virtual schedule.  The lone exception being a required, in-person, unique schedule for Seniors on Friday (4/14).  Continue reading to review the plan for each grade level.

Review the plan for your grade level.  In-person attendance is in bold.  Virtual classes are approximately 30 minutes.  Also, please review the important Testing Day reminders at the bottom of this post.  If you have any questions, please contact an administrator or our testing coordinator.

Testing Days - Important Reminders

  • Schedule: Testing starts promptly each day at 7:45am. End times vary (see above).
  • Transportation: School bus transportation is provided each day.
  • ID: Students need their school ID or driver’s license on test day.
  • Cell Phones: It is imperative that students leave their cell phones in their locker, at home, or turned off in their bag (not on vibrate). It is SAT policy that if any electronic device makes a noise during testing, then that student must be removed from the testing room and their scores canceled. This situation is considered an SAT irregularity and as a testing center, we must follow their rules.
  • Food: A snack will be provided during a designated time within the Testing schedule.  Additionally, lunch is available in The Commons at the end of each Testing Day.
  • Watches: Programmable watches or smart watches are not allowed. Like cell phones, if a watch makes a noise, then the student will be removed from the testing room and his/her score canceled.
  • Calculators: Students will need to bring an SAT approved calculator on testing day. We will have some calculators available, but our supply is limited, so please attempt to have your student bring his/her calculator.
  • Pencils: No mechanical pencils are allowed during testing. Students should plan to bring two or three sharpened #2 pencils on test day.
  • Chromebooks (Juniors): Please plug in Chromebooks over break. Students will need a fully charged device on Friday, April 15th for M-STEP testing.
  • Breakfast: Please try to make sure your student eats a substantial breakfast on test days. It is important to properly fuel the body and mind. Breakfast is FREE and available for all students every school day, including Testing Days.

Thank you for your attention to these important details. Doing so will ensure an efficient test administration, allow for testing to be completed in the time allotted, and result in all scores being successfully submitted.
