Join the HPS PTO

There are several leadership positions open on the HPS PTO for the upcoming school year.

HPS District Executive Director: This position will start immediately and will run for the 2022-2023 academic year. The current Director has had to step-down mid-term due to an unexpected employment opportunity. This volunteer position includes 6-8 hours of work per month, depending on the frequency of District Meetings. It requires leading and attending quarterly or monthly meetings (these meetings were monthly last year), writing the agenda for these minutes and keeping the minutes when there is no Executive Secretary on the Board. Liaising with HPS Admin to promote equity across the member schools, liaising between the coordinators of the member schools to ensure the byelaws of the 5013c are being upheld and helping coordinate joint fundraising efforts for the member schools. The main role of this position is to support the member schools officers in performing PTO activities. This position is a fab way to meet parents from other schools in the District and to help promote equity and inclusion across the District. The HPS PTO cannot operate without this volunteer position being filled ASAP! Any parent with a child in an HPS elementary or at the Middle School is eligible to volunteer for this position. Please contact Toni Rice for more information.

The frequency of these meetings was monthly last year. It requires attending quarterly or monthly meetings and writing the minutes. HLA PTO Treasurer: This position will start immediately and will run for the 2022-2023 academic year.  The current treasurer has had to step-down mid-term due to an unexpected employment opportunity. This volunteer position includes 4-5 hours of work per month.  It includes attending monthly (or quarterly) district meetings, maintaining the budget for HLA PTO, writing reimbursement checks, and collaborating with the HLA PTO Coordinators.
