It's Allergy Season
Michigan’s spring allergy season typically runs from late March to June. The culprit is tree pollen, especially oak, birch and maple. The peak times are April through May. Windy days increase pollen. Rainy days decrease pollen but may increase mold levels. Symptoms can include sneezing, congestion, postnasal drip, itchy/sore throat, red/watery eyes.
Management tips:
- Check counts: Monitor daily pollen counts and stay indoors when pollen counts are high and when there are windy days.
- Reduce Exposure: Keep windows closed, Shower after coming indoors and wash clothes promptly
- Treatment: Consult your doctor. Options may include over-the-counter antihistamines and/or allergy-rated air filters.

HPS Students (Grades 1-5) are invited to march in the Tulip Time KinderParade on Thursday May 7. If you are planning on your child walking in the parade, they must have a costume and you must fill out this form by Monday, May 4.
