HHS Jazz Band at Festival
The HHS Jazz Band Brings Home Division I Ratings
The Holland High School Jazz Band didn't miss a beat after not being able to perform at the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association's District X Jazz Festival in 2021. Instead, during the pandemic, they were busy learning instruments specifically to play in jazz band, coming to Saturday rehearsals after Covid protocols shut down regular zero hour weekday rehearsals, and implementing a long-term vision for the success they experienced on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 at Caledonia High School, where the festival was held. The HHS Jazz Band walked away with Straight Division I ratings from the adjudicators and received a post-performance clinic by Western Michigan University Professor of Drum Set and Jazz Studies, Keith Hall. Congratulations to these students on a fantastic performance as well as continuing to exude the energy, positivity, and perseverance it takes to achieve this level of success!
