Orchestra Success at Festival
The Award Winning Holland High School Orchestras celebrate 1st Division marking this year the 27th year of 1st Division Ratings under Mr. John Reikow as the director of Orchestras of Holland Public Schools.
Last week our high school orchestras performed at the Michigan School Band And Orchestra District 10 Band and Orchestra Festival held on Thursday March 3, at West Ottawa Harbor Lights Middle School.
The Concert Orchestra received straight Division 1 ratings The orchestra enjoyed remarks from all the judges in performance and great clinic comments from top Michigan String Clinician Rodney Page. Mr. Reikow noted that the students received great comments from all three performance judges which included recognition of great tone, intonation, and specific development of dynamic phrasing.
The Chamber Orchestra received Straight Division 2 ratings from the judges who congratulated our soloists and remarked on their impressive challenging repertoire and outstanding soloist in both selections.
