Build 2021 - Phase 1 | Project Updates
We'll see several Phase 1 projects begin soon. Meanwhile, planning and design is underway at Holland Middle School for projects that will begin in the Summer of 2023.
PHASE 1 PROJECTS IN PROCESS:
During Spring Break 2022, we'll begin to see some preliminary work done on the playgrounds at HLA and Jefferson. Most of the work will be completed during the summer months: this includes new outdoor learning spaces, new turf fields, and play areas.
Also this summer, bids have been accepted for the renovations of the dugouts and bullpens at Holland High's baseball and softball diamonds, a track resurfacing, and improvements to the walkway at the HS Outdoor facilities.
At the Middle School, several projects will be completed this summer: interior paint, ceilings, restroom updates, and outdoor landscaping. Concept and design work in underway for additional renovations at the Middle School that will improve the Cafetorium, Common Areas, Media Center, Outdoor Spaces, and the Teacher's Lounge. This work will happen in the Summer of 2023.
Work will begin this summer on an out-building at the Maintenance and Transportation building. 2 new buses have already been purchased.
And at Jefferson, new exterior and interior doors will be hung.
Up next, designers will begin working on concepts for Art Wing, Media Center and C-Wing (science) classrooms at the High School. These were untouched spaces during the last renovation at HHS. Designers are also dreaming about the future of the PAC and Athletic Facilities (including the weight room). Several security and ventilation systems will be updated as well during these projects.
Funding for Phase 2 projects will be available in July of 2023!
