Announcing School Cancelations and Delays

Starting in 2022, HPS will use REMIND to announce weather-related school cancelations and delays.

As the first winter storm of 2022 rolls in to West Michigan, now is a great time to "remind" the HPS community of how we will communicate information about weather-related school cancelations and delays.  There are a number of ways we will communicate this winter:

  • REMIND will notify you via email, text message, or voice call (depending on the notifications settings you've established). Even if you haven't downloaded REMIND or ever activated your account, REMIND will use the contact information you provided in PARENT PORTAL to let you know about urgent messages like cancelations or delays.

  • LOCAL RADIO AND TELEVISION STATIONS will be notified with information about school cancelations or delays.

In almost all cases, decisions to close or delay school will be made before 6am.
