Backpack Giveaway

Community Choice Credit Union to host Backpack Giveaway for HPS students on August 3, 4-7pm | 114 S. Waverly Rd

As part of their continuing efforts to support students, families, local schools, and communities, Community Choice Credit Union will continue what has become an annual tradition and host backpack giveaways at eight of their 23 member centers throughout July and August. Selected locations are prepared to hand out 400 backpacks filled with school supplies and other learning essentials to children who attend the event, while supplies last. In addition to backpacks, complimentary snacks such as hot dogs or cotton candy from local businesses will also be available for attendees to enjoy. “Community Choice is dedicated to supporting education at all levels,” said Jeremy Cybulski, Community Engagement Manager at Community Choice. “From financial education in grade schools to our $100,000 in scholarships granted annually to deserving students and professionals, we are always looking for ways to support students. The backpack giveaways are an extension of that commitment.” The annual backpack giveaways are some of Community Choice’s most cherished events. They reflect the true spirit of the credit union.   “At the same time, we get to be out in our communities, help families, and just have a good time by Giving Big and Giving Back.”

This year, Community Choice has reached out to local businesses and provided an opportunity for sponsorship of a local backpack drive-up event. Money collected through sponsorships will be donated to the Community Choice Foundation to fund its annual scholarship program. In addition to thanking everyone in the community who helps make the events a success, the credit union would also like to thank radio station K105 in Jackson, Mich,, and Norton Shores First Responder’s Children’s Foundation. Each organization donated an additional 100 backpacks that will be handed out during the event in their community.
