Back to School Letter from Mrs. Pennington

Things you can do to ensure your child has the best possible education learning experience | HHS School Nurse | Stay in Contact
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year
HHS, HEC, and HVRT students and families!
While we are always excited for the new school year to begin, this year carries special importance given our extended break over the spring and summer months. In anticipation of our return to school, our teachers, administrators, and support staff, have been working diligently to make sure that this year’s school experience is academically challenging, socially enriching, and physically safe.
Your partnership with school staff in support of your sons and daughters is crucial to our students’ academic success. Whether you have chosen online or face-to-face learning to begin the school year, there are some things you can do to ensure your child has the best possible education learning experience:
- Communicate often with your child’s teachers. Please reach out to your child’s teachers with questions and concerns.
- Ensure there is a quiet space in your home for studying. This doesn’t have to be a fancy room with expensive equipment. As long as a space has good lighting and is comfortable for your child, it will work!
- Develop a daily routine that includes time for family, free time, and studying. It’s all about balance, and getting students in the habit of budgeting their time is one that will carry them to success beyond school.
An additional support for the students at Holland High School is our Holland Hospital School Nurse, Demetria Friberg. Nurse Friberg has been instrumental in developing our Return to Learn protocols for safety and is an invaluable resource during our current health crisis If you have questions or concerns that are health related, please know that we have an on-site resource in Nurse Friberg.
As we move through the coming weeks, please monitor your school email for updates and additional details. Thank you for your support of Holland High School, Holland Early College, and Holland Virtual Tech.
Go Dutch!
