Nick Vartanian grew up in DeWitt, Michigan, as an avid Spartan fan. Nick attended Alma College where he majored in History and minored in Social Studies. He earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University in 2011.

He is happily married to a Holland High grad, Kathy, who is also a teacher.  They have three sports loving, rambunctious boys- Grayson 14, Blake, 11, and Kai, 9. 

Nick has been working as a teacher for 23 years, the last 15 at Holland High School. Nick has enjoyed teaching U.S. History, World History, and Advanced Placement World History at Holland High. He currently serves as the social studies department chairperson at the high school and helps run the Student Leaders Initiating Change student club. 

In his free time he enjoys watching his boys play multiple sports, staying active in the gym, and reading mystery novels.
