Students of the Month

Eding, Sterken, Gamez (L to R)

Congratulations to our September Students of the Month at Holland Middle School:

  • EZRA EDING (6th Grade)
  • SAMMY STERKEN (7th Grade)
  • ANDEE GAMEZ (8th Grade)

EZRA EDING:  Ezra has been doing a great job in PE class including all students in each lesson. He has befriended some students who has been participating due to lack of skills and mobility and has taught them how to perform certain skills in class. He's the first to volunteer to help in class. During our flag football unit he has taken a couple students who have not gotten picked on to join a team, and picked them first to join him. He does what's right and could care less about what anyone thinks. He's confident, committed, and a great model of what it means to be Diverse, United, Thrive, Committed, Honorable. It has been a pleasure teaching him and watching him become such a leader already in life.

SAMMY STERKEN: I would like to nominate Sammy for Student of the Month because he truly embodies what it means to be DUTCH. Sammy is kind, compassionate, honest, and always willing to help others. He treats the people around him with respect and makes those around him feel valued and supported.  Sammy is also a very smart and dedicated student who works hard and takes pride in what he does. He is an outstanding tennis player, and his commitment to athletics shows his determination, discipline, and willingness to challenge himself and grow.  Most importantly, Sammy consistently demonstrates the qualities we value at Holland Middle School. He is Diverse in the way he respects and appreciates others, United in the way he supports those around him, Thrives by continually growing and challenging himself, is Committed to doing his best, and is Honorable through his honesty, integrity, and compassion. Sammy is a wonderful example of what it means to be a Dutch!

ANDEE GAMEZ: (Andee was nominated by two teachers)

  1. Andee is always setting a good example of thriving.  She moved from Colorado to a new state and has not shied away from getting involved in school and showing her spirit.  She is an insightful contributor to class discussions and she is not afraid to show what she knows.  She is an awesome kif=d whose future is bright! She is awesome!

  2. It is an absolute privilege to nominate Andee for Student of the Month. As a new student to Holland Middle School this year, Andee has brought a wonderful blend of rich creativity and quiet dependability to our art class. She is the kind of student every teacher dreams of having—attentive, kind, and always looking for ways to lend a helping hand before you even have to ask. She models the Dutch Matrix flawlessly in everything she does, showing respect, taking responsibility, and coming ready to excel. I am super proud of Andee and so glad to have her in class!
