Welcome to another exciting school year at Holland Public Schools! 

The beginning of a new school year is always filled with hope, anticipation, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

Whether you are returning to HPS or joining our district for the first time, we are grateful you are part of our school community.

The first day of School is Thursday, August 27.

Holland Heights families, neighbors, former Heights teachers and members of the community came by to check out our brand new nature-based school during a Grand Opening celebration on Sunday.

Books & Games provides students with an hour of supervised reading, homework help, and games, plus a free breakfast an hour before school starts each morning.

• It also gives parents/guardians an extra hour to start their day or  to get to work on time!

Students must be registered Books & Games 1 day before attending.

School Starts Thursday, August 27!

• 6th Grade Orientation Night- August 20 5-6:30pm | Holland Middle School
• Open House - Tuesday, August 25 4-6pm | Every HPS School

HPS students will head back to school on August 27, but  there are a handful of back-to-school events before the first bell rings.

Holland Public Schools staff are getting ready for the school year ahead. This July, 43 teachers from around the district took that commitment a step further. 

Thanks to a generous sponsorship from Huntington Bank, our team traveled to Atlanta to visit the Ron Clark Academy, a school celebrated worldwide for the way it builds belonging, culture, and joy into every part of the student experience.

HHS Alumni will perform in a fundraiser concert for Dutch Theatre on Wednesday, August 12 at Park Theatre: Homecoming: A Dutch Theatre Alumni Show.  Dutch Theatre Director Kate Colburn talks about it in this week's HPSPodcast.

• Holland Public Schools is excited to once again offer NO-COST breakfast and lunch to every student during the 2026-2027 school year through the Michigan School Meals Program!
• Every household should complete an Education Benefit Form, regardless of income. You

We're getting ready for the first day of school and handling all the administrative business before the first day of school on August 27.

• Taking Care of Business Day is Tuesday, August 11
• Drop-in 1-6pm at Holland High School Office

For K-12 families who have NOT completed online registration OR who need assistance with:

• Registration or Enrollment
• Parent Portal
• Academic counseling
• Paying fees
• These services will NOT be available at Open House on Tuesday, August 25!

Students who need transportation during the first two weeks of school must register BEFORE Wednesday, August 12.

The Holland community is invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Nature-based Holland Heights Elementary School!
