Forensic Team to Compete at State

Members of the Holland High School Forensics team will travel to Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek for the State Competition on May 3 & 4. State competitors include:

  • Yanyssa Ochoa (12th Grade) will compete in Informative
  • Eleanor McMullen (11th grade) will compete in Oratory
  • Leila Sundararajan (10th Grade) will compete in Prose 
  • Chaza Ben (9th grade) will compete in Broadcasting.

Forensics is competitive public speaking. Participants present speeches or performances in front of judges and an audience. Forensics encompasses various speech events such as interpretation, oratory, extemporaneous speaking, and informative. Participants develop communication skills, critical thinking, and persuasive abilities while competing individually and as part of a team.

The Forensics team is coached by Jodi Ozimek and Emily Armstrong.
