Information
Holland Quiz Bowl: A quick shout out the Ale Stark, Mason Stricker, and Ferris Zediker on JV and Wilson Lin, Chanelle Jackson, and Kenneth Felix-Trejo on Varsity for closing out the season at the Allegan Round Table on Monday. JV ended the season in 3rd place, and Varsity ended in 4th place. Varsity has qualified for state competition, where we hope to put up a good showing against the best teams in the state. JVers who contributed to the win throughout the season at the round table and round robin competitions have earned a medal that we will get to you at next practice. Next practice is our last practice, where JV is expected to come, but you are always welcome to come back to help our Varsity team prepare for State.
Clothing Drive: The Social Services Committee of the Holland Youth Advisory Council is putting on a used clothing drive. Students can bring in gently used or new clothes and drop them off in the red bin located in front of the main office. These clothes will be donated to the new Community Action House Resale store.

School Breakfast: So many studies have shown that students who eat breakfast are more likely to: stay focused, attend school regularly, and perform at higher levels of math, reading & standardized testing. By the way, ALL students receive NO-COST breakfast (and lunch)! It's such a great way to start their day and helps moms and dads not have to worry about meals in their already busy morning routines. The theme is the QUEST FOR SCHOOL BREAKFAST - where students can embark on a journey fueled by nutritious food that will provide strength, focus & energy for them to CONQUER THEIR DAY!
Dual Enrollment Information Meeting: There will be a meeting for Dual Enrollment on Wednesday, February 25th, 10:30 (during 2nd 1/2 of Advisory) in the B Wing Amphitheater. If you attend, you will learn about how to qualify for dual enrollment, the types of courses students take, costs that may or may not be included, colleges that qualify, and the application and enrollment process. All students were sent an email with the dual enrollment information. Please check your email for details and attend this meeting if dual enrollment might be a good option for you.
Holland Theater: Join us for our spring production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, running March 5–8! Packed with laughs, awkward moments, and big talent—you won’t want to miss this crowd-favorite musical! Tickets are now on sale! Go to https://hollandtheatre.ludus.com/200512143 and buy them today!
Student Shoutouts: Recognizing each other ups your Aura! Use the link below to submit a recognition form and earn yourself 20 5-Star points! There are also posters in the Commons with a QR code you can scan with your phone. Points will be awarded every Monday. If you write an outstanding shout-out, it could be picked to be shared during the morning announcements and you could get extra points! All shout-outs will be recognized on the TVs around the school, so if you see your name, stop and read what others noticed about you! Let's hype eachother up and recognize all of the amazing things our students do here at Holland High School! https://forms.gle/qfLoeZ6y45dVpo3y6
Sports - https://hollandathletics.com/
Unified Track: Holland High School will have a Unified Track team this spring. Unified sports join people with and without disabilities on the same team and work together to achieve the same goal. Unified Athletes will meet once a week for practice and compete in 3 track meets. Athletes must have a physical on file with the athletic office and have a parent complete the permission slip. Email Mrs. Gearring at kgearrin@hollandpublicschools.org or stop by room C1234 if you have any questions.
Men's Basketball: It was a tough game for Holland from the start in a 72-48 loss to Grand Haven in the other district semifinal on Wednesday. “We got 11 wins,” Holland coach Andrew Meeuwsen said. “In the past two weeks, everyone got the flu. So I thought we could have had a few more wins. I’m very happy for these seniors. They’ve done everything we’ve asked them to do.” For the Dutch, (11-13) Keegan Hulst had a team-high 13 points, Luca Boerma scored 11, Andrew Legg had nine, and Josiah Van Hekken added eight. “They’ve been awesome,” Meeuwsen said of his seniors. “They are coaches on the floor. They all love each other and just love to compete. Those five dudes have been awesome this year.”

Word of the Day
Knackered is an adjective mostly used informally in British English to mean “very tired or exhausted.”
Unfortunately, I was too knackered after work to join them for dinner.
Student Led Conferences
Holland High School is pleased to announce the dates for our upcoming Student-Led Conferences: February 18 and 24, 2026 from 3:30-6:30pm. These conferences are a regular part of our school's approach to involving students in their educational progress. Student participation is required.
We’re also excited to offer family engagement stations in the Commons, complete with a free pizza dinner. Families can visit interactive stations focused on communication, goal setting, study skills, budgeting, and more. This will be available both nights, from 4-5:30 pm so you can stop by before or after your conference! Check out the flyer for more information!
