Student-Led Conferences are coming up! Advisory teachers will be sending classroom codes to schedule appointments. Families can also look forward to new family engagement activities, and pizza will be provided. Read the news story for more details.
Student Shoutouts: Recognizing each other ups your Aura! Use the link below to submit a recognition form and earn yourself 20 5-Star points! There are also posters in the Commons with a QR code you can scan with your phone. Points will be awarded every Monday. If you write an outstanding shout-out, it could be picked to be shared during the morning announcements and you could get extra points! All shout outs will be recognized on the TVs around the school, so if you see your name, stop and read what others noticed about you! Let's hype eachother up and recognize all of the amazing things our students do here at Holland High School! https://forms.gle/qfLoeZ6y45dVpo3y6

Wrestling: Holland Wrestling competed last weekend at the MHSAA District 12-2 Tournament, and our guys battled hard from start to finish. Districts are never easy — every match matters, and the level of competition is high across the board: 132 – Aiden Segovia (45-6) – 2nd Place, 190 – Andreas Valkema (33-7) – 2nd Place, and 165 – Mikkel Adams (35-18) – 4th Place. At Individual Districts, Andreas Valkema (190 lbs) etched his name into Holland Wrestling history by earning his 150th career victory with a semifinal win. Reaching 150 wins in the sport of wrestling is incredibly rare. It takes four years of varsity commitment, year-round training, toughness through injuries, and the ability to consistently compete — and win — against high-level opponents. This milestone is a true testament to Andreas’s work ethic, discipline, and competitive mindset.
Men's Basketball: The Hawkeyes got a redemption win at home against the Dutch, who beat them earlier in the season 56-42. Keegan Hulst and Josiah VanHekken each had 13 points for Holland.
Women's Basketball: The Hawkeyes won the OK Black matchup on Friday 59-26. Miona Rogers scored 16 points for Holland.

Word of the Day
Prerogative means "right or privilege," and especially refers to a special right or privilege that some people have.
If you'd rather sell the tickets than use them, that's your prerogative.
Education was once only the prerogative of the wealthy.
Student Led Conferences
Holland High School is pleased to announce the dates for our upcoming Student-Led Conferences: February 18 and 24, 2026 from 3:30-6:30pm. These conferences are a regular part of our school's approach to involving students in their educational progress. Student participation is required.
We’re also excited to offer family engagement stations in the Commons, complete with a free pizza dinner. Families can visit interactive stations focused on communication, goal setting, study skills, budgeting, and more. This will be available both nights, from 4-5:30 pm so you can stop by before or after your conference! Check out the flyer for more information!
