Holland Forensics: The Holland High Forensics team competed in the Dexter, Michigan, tournament on Saturday, March 7. Kimia McMullen made the semifinals in the storytelling event, while Chaza Ben and Annie Lou Howell brought home trophies for extemporaneous speaking and poetry, respectively. We are proud of our HHS team!

Cooking Club: Cooking club will meet today, Tuesday, March 10th, from 3–5 pm. Please confirm your attendance by filling out the Google Classroom form in Google Classroom or Remind. At this time, the cooking club is at capacity, so we are not taking new members. We are looking forward to cooking together tomorrow!

Vet for a Day: The Ottawa Animal Hospital is hosting a Vet for a Day event on Saturday, March 21st from 9 AM - 12 PM. This event is geared towards high school students who are interested in a career in veterinary medicine. They have several hands-on activities like suturing, interpreting radiographs, extracting "teeth", and many more to help students gain a better understanding of veterinary medicine. They also have presentations on all of the different career pathways for veterinarians and veterinary technicians (nurses). There is a $35 registration fee for all students. 100% of the proceeds go towards the Paisley Paws Charitable Veterinary Foundation that helps owners pay for life-saving veterinary care. Holland High Art: Mayor Bocks will be making a PROCLAMATION on Wednesday, March 4th at 4 pm, at City Hall, that MARCH IS YOUTH ARTS MONTH!!  This is open to the public. Holland Public Schools will have student art represented in two exhibits for the month of March.
One exhibit will be at Holland Area Arts Council from March 5-28, and the other exhibit will be featured at Herrick District Library, March 2-31. The following high schoolers are represented: @ Herrick: Hector Zuniga, Annie Lou HowellAnjalee GaleKate FergusonKelsie Dekker

Clothing Drive: The Social Services Committee of the Holland Youth Advisory Council is putting on a used clothing drive. Students can bring in gently used or new clothes and drop them off in the red bin located in front of the main office. These clothes will be donated to the new Community Action House Resale store. 

Student Shoutouts: Recognizing each other ups your Aura! Use the link below to submit a recognition form and earn yourself 20 5-Star points! There are also posters in the Commons with a QR code you can scan with your phone. Points will be awarded every Monday. If you write an outstanding shout-out, it could be picked to be shared during the morning announcements and you could get extra points! All shout-outs will be recognized on the TVs around the school, so if you see your name, stop and read what others noticed about you! The podcast host's mea culpa did little to satisfy those who found the episode deeply offensive.
