Holland Band: Current 9th-11th Grade Students: If you are looking for something fun, new, and different to do this summer and fall, consider joining the HHS Color Guard! Color Guard combines the artistry of spinning and tossing flags with dance and choreography and is an important part of the visual effect that contributes to the success of the HHS Marching Band! There is only one more Color Guard "Experience Nights" remaining: May 26th, from 6-8 p.m. in the HHS Band Room. Learn some new skills, meet some great new people, and check out what being in Color Guard is all about! Join us for either or both nights! These are open to everyone, and no experience is necessary! Hope to see you there!

Graduate with CLEP and Modern States: Modern State Education Alliance(modernstates.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to making college affordable and attainable, offers FREE online courses in all CLEP subjects.  Taught by college professors, the self-paced courses align to CLEP exams and feature lectures, quizzes, and free textbooks.  Students must earn a passing score in order to receive college credit.  Most colleges in the area will accept these credits (please check with each institution). Summer is the perfect time for all motivated students to take advantage of this opportunity. Remember, HHS is a CLEP testing site.  Please contact Mr. Rumpsa for more information. jrumpsa@hollandpublicschools.org

Word of the Day

Fraught describes something that causes or involves a lot of emotional stress or worry. When fraught is used in the phrase “fraught with,” it means “full of something bad or unwanted.”

The siblings had a fraught relationship.

The paper was poorly researched and fraught with errors.
