Women's Swimming and Diving: Senior Diver Maggie Telgenhof placed second against Grand Rapids Christian with a season-high score of 167.80. Sophomore Ally Valentine placed third. Season best times went to: Paige Frens and Ale Rojas in the 200 freestyle, Lena D’Addona in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 freestyle, Cesia Pedraza in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Kyleigh Mercer in the 100 butterfly, Rojas in the 500 freestyle, and Imagyn VanVeen and Olivia Bernal in the 100 backstroke. “We had a great celebration for Maggie tonight,” said Coach Tonya Book. “She looked powerful on the board and is preparing to do really well at conference.” The Dutch compete against Holland Christian and Grand Rapids Catholic Central at The Holland Aquatic Center next Tuesday, October 21, at 6:30 pm.

Men's Soccer: Holland Soccer defeated South Christian 4-1 to advance to the District Championship game on Thursday. Holland opened the scoring with a goal from Luke Rund-Scott who received the ball from Josiah VanHekken. The Dutch took the 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, Rund-Scott played the ball to Santiago Salazar for a beautiful finish. Salazar pushed the ball to Caelen Gray for the third game of the match, and VanHekken finished the scoring with a goal assisted by Aime Kibango. Holland conceded a goal to create the final 4-1 score. "South Christian is an excellent program," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "I was really happy with the way the guys played tonight. Our goalie and defense did an incredible job, and our midfield and forwards were very efficient. It was a good win to build momentum going into Thursday's championship against a very strong Unity Christian team." Holland is now 11-4-5 and plays Unity Christian in the District 21 Final on Thursday night at 7:15 at Holland Christian.

Word of the Day

To coalesce is to come together to form one group or mass.

The club’s community service projects provide students with a common goal to coalesce around.

The movie is full of beautifully written scenes but they never coalesce into a whole.
