Men's Tennis: The boys' tennis season ended Wednesday with regionals. The Dutch hosted the D3 regional, with 11 teams competing for a spot to advance to the State Finals. The Dutch were led by Floyd Webb, who was seeded, and pulled out a tight match in the Quarterfinals. We are thankful for our seniors this year, Owen, Tucker, and Mason. They were great leaders for our young team and embodied what our program stands for. They will be missed next year!

Men's Soccer: On Thursday night, Holland beat Zeeland West 1-0 in the first round of the District Tournament. Midway through the first half, Andrew Legg headed in a goal from a corner kick by Caelen Gray. That goal stood as both teams could not convert. "We played well, but Zeeland West's defense frustrated us time and time again," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. I am happy that we won, and we move on. We look forward to playing South Christian next Tuesday at 7:00 at Holland Christian's field." Holland is now 10-4-5.

Word of the Day

To obviate something (usually a need for something, or a necessity) is to anticipate and prevent it. A formal word, obviate can also mean "to make an action unnecessary."

The new medical treatment obviates the need for surgery.

Allowing workers flexibility should obviate any objections to the change.
