Remote Learning Options for 2021-22
To assist in our planning, we ask that anyone interested in a remote learning option for next school year complete this interest form by Monday, May 17.
Dear HPS 5th-11th Grade Families,
We are proud of the educational opportunities provided to meet student and family needs this unprecedented school year. We are especially grateful for the hard work of our teachers and students. We are so thankful for the incredible support from our families and community. Through this, many of our beliefs have been challenged, and many of our core beliefs have been affirmed.
We continue to strongly believe that in-person person learning is the most effective and safe environment for most students. We have found, however, that some students can succeed, and even thrive, in a remote learning environment. We have been asked by some families about continued options for remote learning next school year and have been discussing possible future remote options.
While we are developing specific program details, we are able to share our intent to offer secondary (6-12) remote learning options for the 2021-2022 academic year. It is important to note that our options for remote learning next year will be reduced and there will be specific enrollment criteria to ensure that the program meets students’ needs and appropriately supports their success.
To assist in our planning, we ask that anyone interested in a remote learning option for next school year complete this interest form by Monday, May 17. This is intended to inform planning and is not a commitment or guarantee of participation. After communicating your interest on this survey, you will then be invited to complete a formal application for remote learning. The application deadline for all current HPS families is Tuesday, June 1. All applications will be reviewed June 1-4, and families will be notified of the outcome by June 10. New students who enroll in the district after June 1, will be considered for remote learning with the same application criteria, and based upon availability of staffing.
School administration and counselors are happy to answer any questions you may have about remote options for next year. We appreciate your assistance in our planning. Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
