Students are watching as current  events unfold around the country. As they do, we know they may experience and exhibit a wide range of emotions: from sadness to outrage, celebration and relief, and confusion to anger.

At HPS, it is our collective responsibility to foster respect, a sense of belonging, and success that honors each individual. To that end, as current events unfold, Holland Public Schools is prepared to provide opportunities for students to process what they are feeling. Members of our staff are equipped to have conversation with students. Counseling will be available and space will be provided for private discussions if necessary.

I would like to reassure parents and guardians that every school in the district takes every precaution to ensure the emotional support of students and staff. Please contact your child's principal if you have any questions or concerns. And as always, you can also contact me.
