Connor Fowler is the latest HPS Teacher to receive a Teachers Live Here grant. He was awarded $27,300 in down payment assistance toward the purchase of a home in the area.

Stadium Update

Holland Public Schools is incredibly grateful to the community for supporting the 2025 Millage Proposal. Funding will help build a new outdoor facility to support Athletics programs, Marching Band, and provide space for large community gatherings.

Work will begin this Spring, following Softball/Baseball seasons.
Construction of new facilities, bleachers, and field will begin in the Fall of 2026.
Ribbon cutting and first ever HOME Football game will be held in the Fall of 2027.

Since January 2023, 24 HPS Teachers have been awarded more than $573k toward the costs of purchasing a home in or near the district.

Meet the Newest Board of Education Trustee: Rebekah Schipper

Trustees have appointed Rebekah Schipper to fill a vacancy on the Board of Education. Schipper will finish out the term left vacant by Tim Marroquin who was recently elected to the Holland City Council. Schipper will have the option to run for election in November 2026.

Firearm Safety and Harm Prevention

Legal ownership of firearms comes with important safety responsibilities to prevent accidental firearm injuries and deaths, thefts, and suicide, including among children.

Under House Bill 5451, beginning October 1, 2025, Michigan law will require school districts to distribute a safe storage informational notice—developed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)—to the parent or legal guardian of each student each October.

20th Recipient of Teachers Live Here Grant Awarded

HPS is proud to award $29,000 in Teachers Live Here grants to Meghan Kelly! Along with $26,500 in down payment assistance, Kelly also received $2,500 to assist with closing costs because she is purchasing a home within the school district boundaries.

Public Meeting - 2025 Bond Proposal

Alec Driscol (Holland Middle School)

Five-Year Facility Plan - Public Meeting

HPS Families and members of the Holland Community will have one more chance to give input on the district's five-year facility plan on Monday, May 12, 3:45pm at Holland Language Academy. Superintendent Nick Cassidy will discuss:

Phase 1 of the Plan (Redistricting K-5 buildings)
Phase 2 of the Plan (Building Renovations, Facility Construction, and Use of Existing Facilities)
Results of a Community Survey

This meeting was originally scheduled to happen on Monday, April 28 but was cancelled to give additional time to gather more/better information about the Facility Plan.
