Tuesday, May 5, 2026

Information

Seniors - Next week, Tuesday, May 12, is your last day. We have planned our traditional senior march through all of our district schools to celebrate you in cap and gown. We have a morning assembly complete with games, the march, a catered picnic lunch at Kollen Park, and the senior countdown assembly. In order to participate, you need to fill out a permission slip. You can get your slip in the SSO. You must turn it in either back to the SSO or to Mr. T by Monday, May 11. More details to come, but get your permission slip back in asap. Email Mr. T at dtelgenh@hollandpublicschools.org if you have any questions.

Student Senate: Are you interested in running for Student Senate for the 2026-27 school year? If so, stop by Mr.T's room, D1401, for information on what being a member of the Senate requires. You need to do this before Monday, May 11. You will also get information on how to run for office and when the election will take place. Don't miss out on this opportunity. All election materials are due by Tuesday, May 12, so get to Mr. T's room asap to get all of the details/requirements. If you miss the deadline and requirements, you will not be on the ballot. Email Mr. Telgenhof at dtelgenh@hollandpublicschools.org if you have any questions.

CLEP: Accelerate and Graduate with CLEP and Modern States: Modern State Education Alliance(modernstates.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to making college affordable and attainable, offers FREE online courses in all CLEP subjects. Taught by college professors, the self-paced courses align to CLEP exams and feature lectures, quizzes, and free textbooks. Students must earn a passing score in order to receive college credit. Most colleges in the area will accept these credits (please check with each institution). Summer is the perfect time for all motivated students to take advantage of this opportunity. Remember, HHS is a CLEP testing site. Please contact Mr. Rumpsa for more information. jrumpsa@hollandpublicschools.org.

Senior All-Night Party: Seniors, you are invited to register for the Senior All-Night Party by using this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSduPuAlHSYuKfLFATlKm-U47uQzQNQCJUc-5eVtDNsxmngEhg/viewform. "Spring Lake has a very dangerous team," said Holland coach Greg Ceithaml. "We seemed uninspired in the first half, but we connected more passes and kept our poise better in the second half." Holland is now 1-10-2.

Holland High Podcasts can be found here: https://hollandhighpodcasts.weebly.com/

Word of the Day

To augur is to show or suggest, especially from omens, that something might happen in the future. Used most often in formal speech or writing, augur is often followed by an adverb, such as well.

The downturn augurs badly for the success of the business.
