Enrollment & Registration

Enrollment Information

We look forward to meeting your family and thank you for the opportunity to educate your child(ren). We know that you will be pleased with our experienced staff and high learning expectations. Parents are an important part of a child's learning experience--we encourage you to become actively involved in your neighborhood school.

While schools are closed, you can still enroll your student at Holland Public Schools. If you need more information about enrollment, or paper applications, please contact Kathryn Mathe at 616-494-2068.

FOR STUDENTS & FAMILIES NOT ALREADY ENROLLED AT HPS:

SCHOOL OF CHOICE | Non-Resident Open Enrollment period ends June 30.

The Open Enrollment Period for limited spaces begins on June 1, 2020, and ends on June 30, 2020.

Click here for the School Of Choice Enrollment Form.

Holland Public Schools participates in the state's 105(c) non-resident enrollment program under the State School Aid Act [MCL 388.1705 and 388.1705c]. This allows parents who reside outside of the Holland Public Schools attendance boundaries to choose an HPS school for their child(ren) from the Ottawa, Allegan, Kent and Muskegon Intermediate School Districts.

An application does not guarantee admission. Space and other considerations are factors. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available spaces, a lottery will be conducted to establish a waiting list on July 8, 2020, in the Board Room of the Holland Public Schools District Administration Building located at 320 W. 24th Street, Holland, MI. 49423. All applications must be filled out completely and received at our pupil accounting office by June 30, 4:00 pm. Applications may be mailed to the District Administration Building, emailed to kmathe@hollandpublicschools.org, or faxed to 616-392-8225.

SCHOOL REGISTRATION | Please Update Parent Portal Information

Beginning this year Holland Public Schools plans to have ALL Pre K -12 parents utilize our online system to update, obtain information or register online.  This requires each family to create a Parent Portal Account.  Through your account, you will be able to gain access to your child's progress throughout the year, as well as messages from staff. Please click here to request access.

Each year we will be asking every family to go into their portal account and click on the online registration process to update personal information such as phone numbers, emails, address and contact information.  This must be done every year before the first day of school and anytime contact information changes. Please keep in mind that if you make an address change, you will still need to provide supporting documentation (utility bill etc.) to your child's school building to keep with their records.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR HPS FAMILIES WHO USE DISTRICT TRANSPORTATION.

To register for 2020-2021 school-year bussing, parents must go through the online registration process through their Parent Portal Account, which needs to be completed by June 30, 2020.  Bus registration will be a new part of the middle school and high school process as well.  ONE week before the first day of school, parents will need to access students bussing information (route and bus stop) through the PARENT PORTAL of Infinite Campus, as this information will not be mailed.

INTERNAL TRANSFERS

The window for internal transfers for the 2019-2020 school year was open March 18-29, 2019.

Families who would like to send their child(ren) to a different elementary school other than their neighborhood school may fill out an internal transfer request. Requests may not be made outside of this open enrollment internal transfer window.

Requests will be honored based on space and availability in the school requested. Parents who transfer their students out of their neighborhood school are responsible for bringing their children to and from school.

Once approved, internal transfer students will be grandfathered into the requested school.
