Our District
Thank you for making this "connection" with Holland Public Schools!
Founded in 1848, Holland Public Schools has earned state and national recognition for excellence in education. Approximately 330 teachers, with an average of 14 years experience each and most possessing master's degrees, offer our diverse student population solid instruction in core curriculum along with a wide spectrum of other programs, including art, music, athletics, theater, forensics, K-12 Spanish, special education, English as a Second Language, and many extra-curricular activities.
Our district strives to provide broad-based opportunities; opportunities for students to grow and learn as well as opportunities for parents, community members, and business partners to get involved. We are a "community" school district in every sense. Everyone is welcome.
Today, Holland Public Schools has one "Class A" high school with the 8th grade program housed there, 4 schools for grades K-7, and one early childhood center.
Below is a listing of our schools. You're encouraged to also visit the "About HPS" link (district history), the "School Board" link, and "Superintendent Office" link. These links will give you a glimpse of our district, its leadership, and direction. By visiting our teacher pages and other links on our website, you'll see the range of our programs and the high quality of our instruction. As Superintendent Davis has frequently pointed out, "there are small miracles occurring in our classrooms every single school day."
