Summer has just started, but it is never too early to start thinking ahead. There are several updates below that will help prepare your kids and family for another great year at East.
Tentative class lists for 1st-5th grades will be posted on Friday, 6/16 at 3:00. These placements are subject to change based on enrollment and staffing. We are monitoring enrollment in multiple grade levels and may adjust sections based on student numbers.
Summer Reading Club
Every Tuesday (besides July 4th) East will be hosting a Summer Reading Club from 6:30-7:30 on the front lawn at East. Students will receive free books, will read to their parent or a volunteer, will get to listen to a guest reader, and will get Ice Cream. This is a great way to keep your child reading and learning this summer.
Keep your child reading this summer. They can also continue to earn points through Reading Counts to earn them several awesome prizes at East when they return. Several students have already earned over 50 points this summer!!! The link to Reading Counts can be found here.
Summer slide is used to describe what happens to students who do not continue reading and learning over the summer and how it impacts them moving forward. Here is a great video showing why it is so important to keep your child reading and engaged in different learning opportunities over the summer. Click this link to see a video that can help.
Open House at East will be August 21st from 5:00-7:00.
First Day of School
The first day of school is August 23rd.
