Band members in the Tulip Time Parade

Dear Jefferson K-7 parents with 1st through 5th graders:

We hope many of our 1st – 5th graders will choose to participate in this year’s Tulip Time Kinderparade, as well as many of the other exciting events that happen in early May in Holland.

The Kinderparade for our HPS 1st-5th grade marchers and band members is Thursday, May 11.  The parade begins at 2 pm.

Thursday, May 11 is scheduled to be a half-day of school – with school dismissing at 11 am. However, if the parade is cancelled on Thursday due to the weather, the parade will be on Friday. We will then have a full day of school on Thursday and a half day of school on Friday.

Remember, school dismisses on Thursday, May 11 at 11 am. The 1st through 5th grade marchers need to return to Jefferson by 12:55 pm (in costume) to ride the bus with their classmates to the beginning of the parade route.  The bus will leave Jefferson promptly at 1:10 pm.

When the parade ends (approx. 3:15-3:30 pm) parents are responsible for picking up their children at the Kollen Park boat launch lot by 3:40 pm.

FOR HPS 1st-5th GRADERS needing a Dutch costume. Costume rental dates are listed below. Costume rental will be held at Holland Language Academy (former Van Raalte School - 461 Van Raalte Avenue). A non-refundable $5 rental fee per each costume will be charged.

  • Friday, May 5 from 3:30–7 pm
  • Saturday, May 6 from 9 am– Noon
