Virtual Learning Opportunities at HPS

Holland Public Schools is pleased to share its final stages of preparation of offering on-line virtual learning opportunities for qualifying students from Holland Public Schools, private schools in our attendance area, and families who home-school their children within the boundaries of Holland Public Schools.

There are a number of ways in which students can take these online courses offered through https://www.odysseyware.com/. Students may begin doing so as early as sixth grade up to their senior year including core curriculum, a broad array of elective classes, advanced placement and test preparation. The Course Catalog outlines the class offerings, course overview, curriculum contents and units of instruction.

Students wishing to take an online course using Odysseyware, must register for the class by February 1st. Those wishing to take a class via Michigan Virtual must register for the class by February 3rd.

Instruction is provided in an on-line format by certified intructors. Students work independently with the support of a mentor teacher. Arrangements must be made for students  to take quizzes and tests on location who participate in a virtual on-line off campus setting at our Holland Virtual Tech High School located on the main campus of Holland High School located at 600 Van Raalte Ave. Two-way communication is required on a weekly basis to benchmark academic progress and provide supplemental support as needed. Students who successfully complete a course will be awarded credit.
