Family and Consumer Sciences
Welcome to Family and Consumer Sciences Department. Our department teaches classes which allow students to apply core curriculum to everyday life and prepare themselves to be independent citizens, consumers and family members as they make their way out into the "real world".
I teach the Fashion Design classes, Exploring Parenting, Financial Management, Personal Living and Health I. I began my career with Holland Public Schools at East Middle School in 1991. I am the secretary of our state organization, Family and Consumer Sciences Educators of Michigan.
I am also a Master Educator with the Take Charge America Institute, Family Economics and Financial Education project. We develop free finance curriculum (available on-line), and train hundreds of teachers each year in the use of the curriculum. I am so excited to see how this curriculum is helping HHS graduates be more financially fit!
