District Continuous Improvement Team
Welcome to the District Continuous Improvement site. If you have any questions about the information here, please contact Barb Terpstra at 616-494-2040.
The District Continuous Improvement team was created to facilitate the district and school improvement process for Holland Public Schools. The team consists of Central Leadership staff, including our facilitator, the Director of School Improvement, Building Administrators, School Improvement Chairs and HEA elected content representatives.
You can access the team roster here. Please click here for the DCIT Meeting dates for 2012-13
The structure and function of the DCIT is as follows:
- Define and craft the next steps of where we go in continuous school improvement, what that looks like across the district, and bring school improvement to life.
- Serve as a recommending body to the Teaching for Learning Board that helps to establish curriculum, textbook adoptions, curriculum content (i.e.:TWBI, VR Tech) and define how we expend the resources from the state and federal grants.
- Plan staff development for the district, spending time really diving in to our assessment data to guide those decisions.
- Administrators and school improvement (SIP) chairs will define the Monday continuous school improvement meetings based on DCIT Learning.
As a result of this new team, HPS no longer has a PSD Board. The DCIT will approve professional staff development. In addition, staff development must be supported by school/district improvement goals and strategies. Please visit the DCIT PD page for more information.
Your building administrator and school improvement chair are your communication links to DCIT and what's happening in the district. Please contact them to learn more.
