Welcome to Mrs. Schoettley's home page!
3rd Grade
Hello. I am Pat Schoettley. I have taught in Holland Public Schools for over 20 years. I taught at Lincoln and VanRaalte Elementary Schools before coming to East in 2006. I love this school!! Most of my teaching has been in fourth and fifth grade. I moved to third grade in 2010 and found a new love!! I live in Hudsonville where my daughters, Abby and Libby, attend Hudsonville Public Schools. I love to read and spend most of my free time doing that. As a family we love to ski, swim, and ride rollercoasters.
Third grade is a great year. This is the year the kids are transitioning to "upper" elementary. It is their first experience with a hard cover math book - always an exciting thing!! They can look forward to some exciting units in science including motion, light, sound, plants, and animals. Our social studies topic is Michigan- we will look at the geography, economics, government, and history of our great state! The two things that third graders really look forward to are cursive writing and learning the multiplication facts.
I have a class WIKI page. This page will provide you a place to view pictures of some of our special events and access web-sites where your child can practice the skills at home that we are learning in school. We will be using this WIKI page as a starting place when we use the computer lab, so your child should know their way around it. The address is:
