Welcome to second grade in room 288!
Hello. I'm Lori Mierle-Kruggel and I've taught second grade, in Holland Public Schools, for 23 years! Obviously, I thoroughly enjoy the enthusiasm and curiosity of second grade children. They love school and they love to learn!
IN 2nd GRADE: We will continue to strengthen our skills in reading, writing and math. In science, we learn through hands-on activities about Measuring, the Earth's Land and Water Features and the Life Cycle of Plants. In Social Studies our units focus on our Local Community.
LOOKING AHEAD: Tulip Time is just around the corner! Remember to rent a costume, at Lakeview School, on May 4th from 3:30-7:00 p.m. or May 5th from 9:00-12:00 noon. The cost for renting a costume is $5.00.
WE HAVE A CLASS WIKI: Here is link where I post pictures and information from our 2nd grade classroom. This link will provide you with web-sites your child can visit that strengthen second grade skills. There are also web-sites that are fun and interesting to a second grader, so have a great time visiting these cool sites! Note that it takes you away from our HPS website. If you have difficulty viewing or accessing the information as it's posted here, please let me know right away.
